Nike skateboarding

History

shoes share many similarities. Strong grips, durable ankle support, and relative comfort were some of the offerings that attracted skaters to Nike shoes. However, they were not considered the most desirable In the 1980s, skateboard companies started to pop up around the globe. However, skateboarding still had a relatively small community—not enough to attract serious interests from major shoe companies, who were battling it out for precious basketball shoe territory. This gave smaller companies a chance to gain ground in the skateboarding market. Airwalk led the charge, developing an oversized shoe that combined an inflated tongue, a thick sole, and a suede exterior. Although Nike never officially entered the skateboarding market in the 1980s, many of its shoes gained a following in the skateboarding community because skateboarding shoes and basketballskate shoes due to the "underground" nature of skateboarding at that time, and many skateboarders rejected Nike because they believed the brand was too commercial. The 1990s saw the rise of skateboarding into prominence and the vast improvement of skate shoe technology, with DC Shoes making major advances in shoe design. The company added stronger fabrics, multidensity rubber, gel pockets, plastic eyelets that encased exposed shoelaces, and soles with a gumlike grip that improved foot-to-face traction. Airforce One Shoes began to dominate the skate shoes market. In the mid-1990s, skate shoes went mainstream. Their evolution was influenced as strongly by popular culture as by the demands of skateboarding. The loud, blocky skate shoe fell from favor as the hip-hop culture of the 1990s eventually died out. The current trend reflects the punk-rock look of the 1970s. Nike started to experiment with the market by reissuing many of its older models in the late-1990s. In 2007, after failing four times to enter the skateboard market, Nike SB had emerged as a successful skateboarding company by manipulating demand for the shoes by keeping numbers down and signing many well-known skateboarders. By keeping numbers down, skateboard shop owners could sell the shoes for as much as five times the suggested $65 retail price. Critics contend that Nike still has not penetrated the skateboarding market and would point out that most of the demand for Nike SB shoes has come from shoe fetishists self-described as Sneakerheads. Nike executive Sandy Bodecker admitted that 80 percent of the shoes were initially bought by this demographic. Due to the high prices caused by the artificial scarcity of the shoes, it is highly unlikely that a person would actually use the shoes for skateboarding, as such an activity would tear the shoes up rather quickly diminishing their collectible value. 2007 also saw Nike SB release a brand new video entitled 'Nothing But The Truth' which featured the likes of team riders Brian Anderson, Paul Rodriguez Jr, Reese Forbes, Wieger Van Wageningen, Stefan Janoski, Omar Salazar, Lewis Marnell, Daniel Shimizu and Todd Jordan. We are proud to present Eberto Ruiz as part of Nike SB.

‘love qoutes and sayings’

Love like a war,

Easy to begin but hard to end.

But true love is durable fire,

In mind every burning,

Never sick, never old, never dead,

From it self never turning.

‘i love you’

These three simple words,

Can begin a new world,

Those three words can create a life,

But they can also be full of emptiness...

Remember it

When you say ‘i love you’

Love is like a bird

Set it free...

If it’s yours

It will come back

And if it doesn’t

It was never yours and never will be

Love grows by giving.
The love we give away is the

Only we keep.

The only way to retain love

Is to give it away.

You come to love not by finding

The perfect person,

But by seeing an imperfect

Person perfectly.

‘Valentine qoutes and saying’

I love the way you kiss me

I love the way you smile

I love the way you love me

You are my valentine!!!

You taught me how to love

You make me feel like a dove!

My love for u will always stay!

I love u, happy valentine day!

Night and day i think about you

Not knowing what also to do

My heart is only thine
My loving valentine!

I don’t need this day

To show my love and care

You know is perfectly,my may,

Such feelings’re very rare...

When your eyes and your smile i see

That’s valentine for me!

There is so much i want to say

I want to share with you this day!

As you’re my stars, ads you’re my world!

My life, my sky, my valentine girl!

On this day, filled with happiness and love,

Oh, guess, what i’m dreaming of ?

To bring a lot of flowers To make a lot of gifts

To spend some happy hours

Kissing your precious lips!

Happy valentine day! I love you!

‘Joking’

I saw something in a store

Display today, it was so beautiful,

Wonderful and adorable.

I was close to buying it 4 u,

But then i realized it was my own reflection

Forget my words of love and how i hold u tight.

Forget my kisses hot – it’s all just only lie,

Of course, u are a pretty man

But more i love the roasted hen!

It’s important to find a man who has a money,

A man who will love u, a man who is a great lover.

But it’s much more important

That these 3 men will never meet.

Those deep eyes, that sexy body,

such a brain,a tender lips and pretty smile...

but that’s enough about me,

tell how you are.

I know u consider me glad

I know u consider me fine

But like every other guy

Leave the number and wait in line!

Always follow my rules:

1. i’m always right

2. if i’m wrong see point 1:)

Avenged sevenfold

Avenged sevenfold

Biography

The members of metalcore outfit Avenged Sevenfold (or A7X) were still attending high school in Huntington Beach, CA, when they formed their band in 1999. Nevertheless, it didn't take long for M. Shadows (vocals), Zacky Vengeance (guitar), Synyster Gates (guitar), the Reverend (drums), and Johnny Christ (bass) to make an impression with their aggressive hybrid of metal and punk-pop. The band made its official debut in July 2001, releasing Sounding the Seventh Trumpet on the Good Life label, before moving to the Hopeless roster for 2003's Waking the Fallen. Warner Bros took interest in the band's aggressive sound and issued their breakthrough release, City of Evil, in June 2005. The album reached number 30 on Billboard's Top 200, propelled in part by the Top Ten success of the single "Bat Country." The accompany music video was heavily rotated on MTV and Fuse, where live appearances also helped boost Avenged's growing profile, and the band ultimately won the Best New Artist Award (though they were hardly newcomers) at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. As demand for their music increased, Avenged Sevenfold canceled their tour dates for fall 2006 and decamped to Houston, TX, where they set to work on a fourth studio album. Boasting a grittier sound than previous releases, the self-titled/self-produced disc appeared in October 2007, debuting at number four on the Billboard Top 200 and spinning off the radio single "Almost Easy." Fall out boy

Fall out boy

Biography

The four members of Chicago's Fall Out Boy came together in suburban Wilmette around 2001. Vocalist/guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist/lyricist Pete Wentz, drummer Andrew Hurley, and guitarist Joe Trohman had all been in and out of various units connected to Chicago's underground hardcore scene. Most notably, Hurley drummed for Racetraitor, the furiously political metalcore outfit whose brief output was both a rallying point and sticking point within the hardcore community. As Fall Out Boy, the quartet used the unbridled intensity of hardcore as a foundation for melody-drenched pop-punk with a heavy debt to the emo scene. They debuted with a self-released demo in 2001, following it up in May 2002 with a split LP on Uprising that also featured Project Rocket (for which Hurley also drummed). The band returned on the label in January with the mini-LP Fall Out Boy's Evening Out with Your Girl, but by this point a bidding war of sorts was already in full swing. Fall Out Boy eventually signed a deal with Gainesville, FL's Fueled by Ramen, the label co-owned by Less Than Jake drummer Vinnie Fiorello, but also received an advance from Island Records to record their proper debut. The advance came with a right of first refusal for Island on Fall Out Boy's next album, but it also financed the recording of Take This to Your Grave, which occurred at Butch Vig's Smart Studios compound in Madison, WI, with Sean O'Keefe (Lucky Boys Confusion, Motion City Soundtrack) at the helm. Take This to Your Grave appeared in May 2003, and Fall Out Boy garnered positive reviews for their gigs at South by Southwest and numerous tour appearances. Their breakout album, the ambitious From Under the Cork Tree, followed in spring 2005, quickly reaching the Top Ten of Billboard's album chart and spawning two Top Ten hits with "Sugar We're Going Down" and the furiously upbeat "Dance, Dance." The album went double platinum, and earned the guys a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Fall Out Boy's star status in the underground -- driven by the especially extroverted Wentz, who also gained exposure with his clothing line and Decaydance imprint (of Fueled by Ramen) -- had boiled over into the mainstream. They toured extensively behind the album, both at home and abroad, including spring 2006 arena dates, in addition to appearing on TRL, late-night television, and music award shows. Without taking a break, the guys eventually hunkered down to work on their follow-up record with From Under the Cork Tree producer Neil Avron and, somewhat surprisingly, Babyface. Infinity on High, whose title was taken from a line in one of Van Gogh's personal letters, appeared in early February 2007, spearheaded by the hit single "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race." The album continued Fall Out Boy's streak, debuting at number one on the Billboard charts and going platinum about a month later. Released one year later, the CD/DVD package Live in Phoenix documented the band's strength as a flashy live act. Johnny Loftus & Corey Apar, All Music Guide

Incubus

Incubus

Biography

Although it may be only vaguely recalled, the great funk-metal scare occurred at the dawn of the '90s, between the waning of hair metal and the waxing of grunge. Incubus was a latecomer to a boomlet of shirtless suburban funkateers who were greatly in-fluenced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, and Primus. Fungus Amongus, a compendium of slapped bass, atonal guitar noise, and forced wackiness, seemed hopelessly dated in 1995.
S.C.I.E.N.C.E., from 1997, links funk metal to the rap metal (replete with turntable scratches and down-tuned guitars), a fusion that had become the dominant rock idiom by the decade's end. But the record is far more emotionally and texturally nuanced than those by peers like Korn, and its Santana-esque "Summer Romance" supports the fact that Brandon Boyd, unlike Anthony Kiedis or Les Claypool, is a fine singer. Hence, Make Yourself's shift toward genuine songwriting was quite welcome. Incubus had found a beta-male approach to new-metal: roaring, assymetrical riffs and herky-jerky dynamics coexisting with Boyd's yearning tenor and burgeoning melodic gift. The record yielded two of the finest Modern Rock singles of the era, "Stellar" and "Drive," easily the band's best song.
Morning View purged Incubus' remaining traces of hip-hop (barring the odd scratch) but boasted only one standout cut, the exultant "Wish You Were Here." A Crow Left of the Murder commences with the turbulent "Megalomaniac," a barely veiled condemnation of George W. Bush, and dives headlong into art rock reminiscent of the Police and King Crimson. If the album offers few immediate pleasures, at least Incubus demonstrates a glimmer of ambition. During the past decade, it has been much bemoaned that major labels no longer give artists time to develop; Incubus' steadily improving arc is evidence, however scant, to the contrary. – Rob KempFrom 2004's The New Rolling Stone Album Guide
